Control Cell
|
customer has been trying used different formulations:
1. PP compound of PP 50% homopolymer + 50% copolymer
(exact formulation undisclosed)
2. 70% PP + 30% talc
|
|
Test Cell
|
a. Polypropylene copolymer (MFI 0.8); 1334,4 kg; and
b. Talc, 660 kg; and
c. TK-1, 5.6 kg (approx. 0.28% by weight)
Total PP compound 2000 kg; this special compound was provided by a
masterbatch manufacturer (Note: this
masterbatch manufacturer reported 9.2% production throughput
increase after TK applied comparing with the previous production
output of 70% PP + 30% talc without TK

Result: |
1.
|
The hourly production throughput can be raised from 400 kgs (Control
Cell) to 478 kgs (Test Cell); almost 20% productivity improvement.
(the extruded PP blade is 2-meter wide and 7-mm thick)

|
2.
|
The extruder is a model with the microprocessor control. The
extruder temperature was able to lowered from 210o C
to 195o C. The effect of TK upon PP resin is obvious
and preferred. Operators noticed that TK provides better agglomeration
between resin and filler; TK is also a good lubricant and a good
heat transfer media

1. increase productivity
2. better product's cosmetic quality
3. reduce electricity power bill
